Privacy Policy

The short version: StolenorNOT has no server. Your serial numbers, photos, and search results go directly between your browser and Groq's AI. We literally cannot see what you're searching.

1. Architecture

StolenorNOT is a client-side web application hosted as static files on Cloudflare Pages. There is no StolenOrNOT backend server, database, or analytics platform.

2. Your API Key

Your Groq API key is stored exclusively in your browser's localStorage. It is never transmitted to us. All API calls go directly from your browser to api.groq.com.

3. Photos & Serial Numbers

When you scan an item:

Your photo is sent directly from your browser to Groq's API for text extraction
The photo never touches our servers (we have none)
Serial numbers are sent to Groq's compound search for stolen property checks
We do not store, log, or have access to any of your searches

4. What We Store

On your device only:

Your Groq API key (in localStorage)
Your Auto-Check toggle preference

On our servers: Nothing. There are no servers.

5. Third-Party Services

Groq (api.groq.com): Processes your photos and runs web searches. Subject to Groq's Privacy Policy.
Cloudflare Pages: Hosts the static files. Standard CDN access logs may apply.
Google Fonts: Loads the Inter typeface. Subject to Google's privacy policy.

6. Cookies & Tracking

StolenOrNOT uses zero cookies, zero analytics, and zero tracking scripts. No Google Analytics. No Facebook Pixel. No fingerprinting. Nothing.

7. Law Enforcement

We cannot comply with data requests because we have no data. Your searches exist only in your browser and in Groq's systems (per their policies).

8. Children's Privacy

StolenOrNOT does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13.
